Infrared Wildlife Cameras
By: Date: August 10, 2019 Categories: Camera

Infrared trail cameras are essentially mobile digital cameras which have a motion detection system that detects a human or animal intruder into an area, and triggers a camera which takes either a series of still images, or video footage.

Primarily designed for hunters to scout deer patterns in a hunting zone, these cameras are now more and more used for wildlife observation.

BBC Countryfile recently featured their Stealth Cam Prowler HD infra red scouting camera, showing how they can be used to great effect to capture footage of elusive animals such as river otters and badgers.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show coverage on BBC also recommends the use of these infra red cameras for people looking to see who or what is lurking around their garden at night, and suggested they are particularly useful for capturing footage of the nocturnal …

Make Use of Incandescent Lights
By: Date: August 9, 2019 Categories: Photography Tags:

A lot more efficient version of tungsten lighting is the tungsten-halogen lamp. This uses exactly the same coiled tungsten filament but it burns at a much higher temperature in halogen gas. Consequently, these lamps maintain virtually the identical light output and color temperature throughout their life; they also last longer than traditional lamps and are smaller with regard to their equivalent wattage. Available wattages range from 200 to 10,000 and the most powerful are intended for cinematography; the highest normal wattage for still photographic lights is 2000. The light output is the same as that from a new tungsten lamp of traditional style with the same wattage.

The newer development, particularly relevant to photography, in which camera’s white balance settings may take care of color differences, is high-performance fluorescent. The lamps used are flicker-free, nearly as bright as tungsten, color-balanced …

Reasons to Watermark Photos
By: Date: August 9, 2019 Categories: Photography

Branding

Your watermark can be a signature, a small photo or a logo. As such, it serves to brand you. When people look at your images, they learn something about you.

If you consistently show photos that appeal to them, they’ll get to know who you are and look forward to seeing more of what you publish.

Your images may be quotes or landscapes or funny stuff that you share.

Promotion

Watermarks on your photos promote. What do you want viewers to do? Where do you want people to go? What do you want them to see beyond the image?

Answer these questions to determine what kind of watermark you should create.

You may want to promote yourself, your business, a website or blog. Make sure your watermark reflects that.

For example if your business has a logo, choose that …

Ultimate Camera Controls
By: Date: August 7, 2019 Categories: Camera

Use every setting you can find

The features built into some cameras nowadays are astounding. One example is extreme ISO speed where you can set the sensitivity of your camera to see light that essentially can’t be seen. The ISO speed in a digital camera is no different to the film speeds we used to use many years ago. Remember from your local supermarket or department store you could buy Kodak 100, 200 or 400 speed film. Well digital doesn’t use film, cameras now come with an ISO speed setting built into them, where you can adjust the sensitivity to suit your needs. This is especially good for parties. Here’s my tip – FREE to you. Turn off the flash at a party and push your ISO button and move it from the standard of 100 or 200 up to …

Camera Sensor Cleaning
By: Date: August 4, 2019 Categories: Camera

Unfortunately they do more of a job of “hiding” dust than they do removing it. An expensive investment in a camera like the 5D (Canon EOS) can really hit the pocketbook. It would seem like a shame not to take good care of it like the high precision instrument that it is.

Digital camera cleaning of parts, like the lens and body are relatively easy compared to the delicate task of cleaning camera sensors. This is why extreme care should be taken at anytime you remove the lens from your camera body. A damaged sensor would be a costly repair considering some of the middle end models of d-SLR come in at around $2,000 to $3000. Even if you only purchased a “pro-sumer” model like a Canon Rebel XTi or a Nikon D40 for around $800 or $900. It’s probably …

Info of Smart Phone Photography
By: Date: August 3, 2019 Categories: Photography

What a surprise! The photography possible with this machine is far better than any camera owned previously. It takes shot after shot of incredible photos whose detail can be enlarged and studied. Like the camera before it of course it takes videos as well.

This is a far cry from the first camera that my brother gave me when I was around 8 years of age. It was quite small but the photos I took have survived and are a record of the family history from those early years. Film had to be inserted and then the photos developed through the local chemist. It meant saving my pocket-money to redeem them.

From that time to this photography has been one of my hobbies and the quantity of shots from just about everywhere travelled or experiences enjoyed are filling albums and …

Reasons Must Buy Camera Strap
By: Date: August 2, 2019 Categories: Camera Tags:
  • Stay hands free- A photographer subconsciously relies on this accessory usually to hold his treasured possession securely when they decide to stay hands off. Typically they are a substitute for the hands and allow you to perform other tasks even when there is no surface to rest the camera upon. For instance, on a shooting campaign in the muddy areas of a wildlife sanctuary, you probably would not let your camera struggle with the dust and scratches by making it sit on the dirty terrains. That’s where these accessories make a dramatic entry!
  • Safety- While letting the camera slip off your hands is a situation that often knocks a photographer’s door, these straps make sure that your equipment never falls off to the grounds and crashes into pieces. Of course after spending a fortune on your precious camera, you probably
